In this day and age it is easy to lose perspective, particularly in the fast paced technology world we live in. For myself, the pendulum had indeed rocketed off into the darkness. I had forgotten what was really important in life, indeed one would say I didn’t even have a ‘life’ as such, at least not one as fulfilling as it should have been.
I ignored all the signs, I didn’t listen to friends, I didn’t listen to family. I should have done both. Long story short, when I was finally set free from the restrictions of my career it was like a splashing of cold water waking me from a dream. …and I wasn’t happy with what I saw.
So with a deep, and rather nervous breath, I made the decision to discover again what life was all about. It started with a small step, followed by another… and as I stepped off the plane onto a deserted runway in Rwanda my adventure started anew, and the journey that took place was how I met my glaciers and went about beating the blues…
